All- Our scout season of meetings and activities is starting again after a short summer, and our first acitivity will be next week.
Our first meeting for returning scouts is the Ice Cream Social and kickoff meeting, next Thursday, Aug 21, 6:30 at Frazier McEwen park. The kids will rotate thru 4 games, and the parents and leaders will do business. If you have a Boy Scout in he family, please bring him to help with the games. This is for returning, already registered scouts. Please have your scout wear his uniform. We need to collect fees which are:
$35 - check made out to Pack 142
If you want the boys life magazine, this is a seperate $12 fee.
BTW - our fees are low compared to other packs, mainly due to the success of Wreath Sales)
( if by chance a new scout comes, there is a $10 registration fee in addition to the 35).
New Scout Roundup
The Scouting org goes to schools all over to sign up boys interested in joining scouts. This will occur Tues Aug 19 at 7 PM at Robert E Lee, for pack 142. To support this, please have your scout wear his scout shirt to school on that tuesday, and if he has an interested friend, invite him to the meeting that night. A PR video will be shown that day at school on WLEO. This signup is for anyone, not just REL boys.
For our returning scouts who are already members, DON'T GO TO THE TUESDAY NITE MEETING AT ROBERT E LEE.
If you have another son who wants to sign up and start in scouts, please go to the Tues meeting, in addition to the thursday ice cream social.
Our fall schedule is being developed, but is not solidified yet. It is at the same place:
Our first den meetng will be aug 28th, 6:30 at the same room at first methodist church.
Activities - our plan as Webelos is really a plan to accomplish 8+ acitivities over the next 2 years. these are more involved then last years activities. A few are required, but there are several others to choose from. I seek feedback on what your son wants to pursue, so please
Copy page 74 from your book and circle 5 activities you are interested in and bring a copy for me to the meeting on Aug 21. Don't circle Fitness or Citizen. Also please read pages 1-22 " Scout parent guide"
This is going to be a good year. We will try and do more outside. There will be more hands on building, etc. Also, we will do more with the Boys Scouts, like our campout in late july.
