Today, the Den #2 Webelos went to Old Stone Fort State Park for a picnic and a hike.  We cooked chili cheese hotdogs on the park BBQ grills and sang songs and then went to the rangers station.  There was a slight mishap here when the Scoutmaster locked his keys in his truck (he said the wind blew his truck door closed....sure! :)  But, with the help of a resourceful and large muscle challenged Tiger Cub we were able to recover and move on.  We then took a three mile hike around the perimeter of the park and observed trees, plants, and animals along the way.  The weather was perfect.  Everyone had a great time and learned plenty doing it.

After the hike Ranger Ward Weems gave us a little history of the area and demonstrated his traditional blow gun and grills.  Very neat!

We also took the opportunity to announce the assignment of Denner and Assistant Denner leadership positions to our first holders of these positions.  What a help these guys were in coordinating the boys and helping the leaders out.  Thanks guys!
